Our Participants’ Stories

  • “Samantha” knew that her job wasn’t working for her. She slowly built up her confidence by discussing her situation with other program participants and took the steps to change her role into something that was aligned with her values, and beneficial to her organization. Through the program experience she redesigned her position and proposed it successfully to her boss.

  • “Lauren” initially felt overwhelmed by the responsibility of caring for her disabled sibling, shaped by outdated beliefs about his abilities and her role in supporting him.

    She began to take small steps and, with the support of the Velocity Quest community, she gradually let go of old perceptions. Both she and her brother discovered newfound confidence, energy, and inspiration in their evolving roles and shared expectations.

  • After repeatedly being passed over for promotions, “Abby” felt stuck and discouraged. During the program, she realized she wasn’t showcasing her own accomplishments, only her team’s. She began to shift her perspective and practice her newfound confidence. She soon felt comfortable highlighting her strengths. A few months later, she shared the exciting news on an alumni call: she had landed a new role!

  • With an unspoken dream job that seemed out of reach, “Emily” began by outlining what it would look like. She took small steps to explore possibilities and started discussing her vision with others in the community. Over several months, through gradual actions and perseverance, she turned her dream into reality.
